The Indiana Cooperative Development Center, Inc. featured our Young & Free Indiana program in a recent blog post on their website. Executive Director, Debbie Trocha, highlights the opportunity 3Rivers saw to address the money matters of the 15-25 year old crowd in a way that’s relevant to them. One of the unique features of the program is the Spokester Job!
Young & Free Indiana launched in April of 2011, and has been able to interact and engage with over 1,850 young members with Spokester, Matt Mills. Matt runs a blog on the youngfreeindiana.com website that features Movie Tuesdays (financial lessons learned from box office hits), Q&A Wednesdays (answering financial questions submitted by blog followers), and $10 Thursdays (answer Matt’s random question the best and win a $10 iTunes Gift Card)! Communicating on Facebook, Twitter and e-mail, as well as interacting with people at community events, are also in Matt’s job description.
For winning the Spokester role last year, Matt received a $30,000 salary, Apple Macbook Pro, video camera, iPhone with paid cell phone contract, and the use of a Honda Fit with gas during his one year contract. When he leaves, he’ll get to take the computer, camera, and iPhone with him. Sound like a good deal for an 18-25 year old you might know?
We’re looking for a new Spokester to take Matt’s job and lend Young & Free Indiana a voice, a head start, and useful information. Hurry, applications are only being accepted until Thursday, June 7th at 5:00p.m. Visit youngfreeindiana.com/2012-search for details about The Ultimate Job.
