Pay It Forward
Have you seen Aly, our Young & Free Indiana spokester around town lately? She’s been a whirlwind of holiday spirit since she embarked on 25 days of giving as a part of the 3Rivers and Young & Free Indiana Pay It Forward campaign. You can follow her progress, and pay it forward yourself. Just do a random act of kindness, document it with photo or video, and submit it on the Young & Free Indiana website. You could win $500 for a registered 501(c)(3) charity of your choice and a Kindle Fire for you.
The rest of us at 3Rivers will be Paying It Forward as well this month, and we’ll post photo and video of what we’re up throughout December.
If you need some ideas on how you can pay it forward, Aly’s video from today just might help you out.
Happy Holidays.
Groundbreaking Video of the New St. Joe Center Road Location.
On Wednesday, we celebrated the Groundbreaking of our new LEED Certified branch off St. Joe Center Road. 3Rivers employees were joined by members of the community and media for our now traditional “cakebreaking” as well as a few words from 3Rivers CEO Jeff Meyer about 3Rivers history in the area, the importance of the new location, and how the branch will allow us to continue to help people every day with their money matters.
The branch located just west of the Kroger’s Store at St. Joe Village near the planned Northeast YMCA should be open by the end of the year, and will eventually replace the current Maplewood Branch on Stellhorn Road. The ATM on Stellhorn will stay in the same location.
Here’s a quick video I put together of the event including what Jeff had to say. WANE TV also ran a story on the new branch.
We’re Lounging at the 2012 Fort Wayne Airshow
We’re proud to partner with the 122nd Fort Wayne Air National Guard to help make the 2012 Fort Wayne Airshow possible. They’re pulling together an awesome show that will feature a variety of high flying performers as well as static displays that allow everyone to see amazing aircraft up close.
We’ll be lounging outside the KC 135 Refueler on Saturday and Sunday talking to people about their money matters, and helping them find ways to save. We’ve also got some great giveaways for everyone.
The Air Show is free to the public and takes place at the 122nd Fort Wayne Air National Guard Base on Ferguson Road. Hope to see you out there.
For more information, including a very helpful FAQ that answered all of my questions check out the Fort Wayne Airshow online.
Millennial 2020 Spark Tank Gives Young People an Opportunity to Impact Their Community
If you could do something, anything, to make Northeast Indiana a better place what would it be? That’s the question Millennial 2020 is asking of young people on Friday at the first Spark Tank. The event takes place at the University of Saint Francis Performing Arts Center, and gives those age 15-25 a chance to talk about their ideas for community projects, business plans, and more with the focus on improving life in our region.
A day of workshops and activities will help people further develop their ideas. Those in attendance will also have the opportunity to pitch their idea for a chance at $500 in seed funding. This is an awesome opportunity to make a real impact on our region. For more information, check out the Spark Tank online.
Shred It Day Thursday, June 28
We’re partnering with the Indiana State Police, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and Better Business Bureau (BBB), for “Shred It Day” on Thursday, June 28. A mobile shredder will be provided by Iron Mountain at our Dupont Road Branch from 11am-2pm.
This is a great opportunity for both members and non-members to bring any unwanted papers or credit cards that you no longer want or need to be destroyed free of charge. This is also an alternative for those of you who would normally burn your documents, but can’t under the current burn ban.
